The restaurant that was build on barges
The restaurant barge being built
Reader David Martin wonders if any readers can shed any light one some photographs of the building of a restaurant once housed on two barges on the Rochdale Canal at Bellholme, Rochdale Road, Walsden?
David says: “I have photographs of the early work, but not one of the finished article. I think there was a fire that brought it to the end of its life - late 60s or early 70s.”
If you can help out with any information about the barge restaurant, or even have a photograph of it in its heyday, please contact our nostalgia correspondent John Greenwood on 01422 2680.
