Annual event means clean sweep across Hebden Royd

RESIDENTS will be declaring war on litter this weekend.

Hebden Royd Town Council’s annual spring clean takes place throughout Saturday April 9 and Sunday April 10.

Groups taking part include, Calder Valley Search and Rescue, Cragg Vale Community Association, Friends of Hebden Bridge Station, Mytholmroyd Scout Group, Dodnaze Community Association, Mytholmroyd Station Partnership, Steepfields Allotment and Leisure Gardening Society, St John’s Church, Cragg Vale, TGI Youth Group - based at St Michael’s Church, Mytholmroyd-, The Good Shepherd Church, The Green Team at Sweet and Maxwell, and Oakville Road Residents Association.

The groups will be tackling Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge and in return the town council will sponsor them £60. This will either go towards their projects, or to a chosen charity in the case of business groups.

The Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team will be tackling the river banks near Hawksclough Bridge, Mytholmroyd.

The town council, which is working with West Yorkshire Police, Calderdale Council’s Community Wardens and St Vincent’s Housing Association on the project, will also be providing free skips at locations throughout the area.
