DIANA Wallis MEP for Yorkshire and the Humber and Vice President of the European Parliament will address the Upper Calder Valley Liberal Democrats branch meeting on Friday, January 11, in the White Lion Hotel, Hebden Bridge.
She will talk about her role in the European Parliament, the role of Liberal Democrats in Europe, and her views on the future of Britain in Europe.

“With the recent debate about the reform of the European treaty and the coming elections for the EEC in 2009, we wanted an opportunity of hearing about it first-hand from a Liberal Democrat perspective and to have a dialogue about it with someone who is directly involved in it, rather than just listening about it on TV and reading about it in newspapers,” said Counr Janet Battye (local Calderdale Councillor and Leader of the Liberal Democrat opposition group on Calderdale Council).
